Definition of Rotary
|
|
|
Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who
provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and
help build goodwill and peace in the world. In more than 160 countries worldwide,
approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 30,000 Rotary clubs.
Rotary club membership represents a cross-section of the community's business and
professional men and women. The world's Rotary clubs meet weekly and are nonpolitical,
nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.
The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and
throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address
many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger,
the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth,
educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and
other professionals, and vocational and career development.
The Rotary motto is SERVICE ABOVE SELF.

Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of
worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
Ang Layunin ng Rotary ay pasiglahin at itaguyod ang ideyal na paglilingkod bilang
batayan ng mahalagang gawain at higit pa, upang pasiglahin at itaguyod:
FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
UNA. Ang pagpapaunlad ng daupang-palad na isang pagkakataon para sa paglilingkod;
SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of
the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's
occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
PANGALAWA. Ang mataas na pamantayang etikal sa negosyo at mga propesyon; ang
pagkilala sa kahalagahan ng lahat ng makabuluhang hanapbuhay; at ang pagbibigay-dangal
ng bawa't isang Rotarian sa kanyang hanapbuhay na isang pagkakataon upang

THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal,
business, and community life;

FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through

Declaration of Rotarians in Business and Professions

|
|
As Rotarian engaged in a business or profession, I am expected to:
Bilang isang Rotaryong abala sa isang negosyo o propesyon, dapat asahan sa akin na:
- Consider my vocation to be another opportunity to serve;
Ituturing ko ang aking bokasyon na isa pang pagkakataon upang maglingkod;
- Be faithful to the letter and to the spirit of the ethical codes of my vocation,
to the laws of my country, and to the moral standards of my community;
Maging matapat ako sa salita at sa diwa ng nakaugaliang mga patakaran ng aking
hanapbuhay, sa mga batas ng aking bansa, at sa mga pamantayang moral ng aking pamayanan;
- Do all in my power to dignify my vocation and to promote the highest ethical standards
in my chosen vocation;
Gagawin ko ang lahat sa abot ng aking kakayahan na bigyang-dangal ang aking propesyon

- Be fair to my employer, employees, associates, competitors, customers and the
