Welcome to Rotary Club of Marikina West home on the 'net.

Centennial President Ronaldo "Boyet" J. Sacro

ROTARY must have been written in our Centennial President’s destiny.

A second-generation Rotarian, Pres. Boyet was sponsored by CP Nanding Gose and was inducted into the Club in August 2000. The following year he was elected as Club Secretary under the term of PP Pope Solis, served as Director for the term of PP Frix Africa and was elected President in December 2002.

Although a relatively new Rotarian, his involvement in the Rotary service dates back almost twenty years ago. Pres. Boyet was introduced into the world of Rotary by his father, Charter Member Efren Sacro. At a young age, he saw and experienced first-hand the fulfillment of SERVICE and the joys of FELLOWSHIP. During those days children of Golden Westerners tagged-along with their Rotarian-fathers and helped in almost all community service projects. This active participation of their kids made the Rotarians decide that it was time to charter the Rotaract Club of Marikina West. Pres. Boyet admits that the Rotaract Club is very dear to him not only because he was a charter member but more importantly it was in Rotaract where he met a pretty and intelligent young lady, a lady who caught his sight and captured his heart… also a former Rotaractor and now Spouse Meliza ‘Liza’ Tiamzon-Sacro.

The second child in a brood of four, Pres. Boyet was born on February 21, 1964 to Efren and Elvira Sacro. He received his primary and secondary education from the Columban priests of the Malate Catholic School in Manila. He wanted to become a doctor of medicine, but for practical reasons decided to study engineering instead. In 1985, Pres. Boyet graduated from the MIT (Mapua Institute of Technology) with a degree in Electrical Engineering and passed the Board Examination the same year. A believer that life is a continuous education, Pres. Boyet also earned certificates in computer studies & programming from the National Computer Center (NCC) in U.P. and from the Ateneo de Manila University – Computer & Technology Center (ACTC). He also pursued a post-graduate education at the De La Salle University – Graduate School of Business & Economics (DLSU-GSBE) for his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).

Pres. Boyet began his career in the electrical construction industry and revealed that his climb in the corporate ladder was rough and tough. From a contractual, weekly-paid draftsman he rose from the ranks until he became a Project Manager. In 1990, Pres. Boyet made a major career decision and shifted from Construction Management to Sales & Marketing. His sales career saw him sell anything from water purifiers & softeners, fire blankets, scuba diving gears and electrical equipment. Today, Pres. Boyet is the Country Manager of Actaris Metering Sytems (formerly Schlumberger-RMS), a position he has held since March 2000. Actaris is a global company based in France and is considered the leader in meter manufacturing and sales. It also maintains factories and sales offices in almost all the major cities worldwide. In the Philippines, Actaris has an annual sales booking of about US$ 1.8M and is the preferred water meter supplier of Maynilad Water and Manila Water, and for electricity – MERALCO and NAPOCOR.

Pres. Boyet and Spouse Liza share their love for sports and outdoor activities. He played basketball from elementary to college, is a certified scuba diver and a dedicated amateur photographer. With his hectic schedule Pres. Boyet can only play golf sparingly with his fellow Club members. Spouse Liza on the other hand played competitive volleyball in school and now regularly plays badminton.

Our former Rotaractors, Pres. Boyet and Spouse Liza, are blessed with two wonderful children, 14-year old Marielle Kriza or Macks is a 3rd-year high school student at the St. Scholastica’s Academy of Marikina and 9-year old Renzo Miguel or Renz is a Gr. 4 student of Marist School.
