On 9 October 2006, RCMW completed the third phase of the club's Clean
Drinking Water campaign with the formal turnover of the two (2) drinking
fountains at the Tanong High School.
This World Communicty Service (WCS) project entitled FILTERED WATER DRINKING STATION with
WCS project number W05041 has received funding from the ROTARY CLUB OF MIYOSHI CHUO, Rotary International District 2710, Japan.
Representatives of RCMW (members and spouses)
were warmly welcomed by the school officials and all the students of the said
school during the short and simple ceremonies. Equally heartening were the presence
of Golden Westerners who were present during the ceremonies: PP Pol Viola, PP Papong
Ramos, PP Rollie Fantone, PP Jun Bohol, PP Bojie Bernardino, PP Frix Africa,
IPP Rodelle Bolante, PE Dino Nolasco, VP Chito Valencia, Auditor Monching Francisco,
and Rtn. Vlady Ponce de Leon. The Anns were also there to show their support, namely:
Anns Cora Fantone, Wena Bernardino, Alma Africa, Deng Agabin, Rita Nolasco, Nora Fantone,
and Erly Depano. AG Ed Manzanares also graced the event.
The completion of this project is the result of the dedication, hard work and efforts
of numerous members. Special thanks to PE Dino for his untiring efforts towards the
success of the project. He was responsible for coordinating with the supplier, monitoring
the progress of the works (he went there every day during the installation of the fountains)
to ensure that the fountains were installed properly. Of course, the following likewise
deserve special credit for their efforts: PP Frix who conceived of the idea and
implemented the first phase of the project; IPP Rodelle who had the vision of
posting the third leg as a WCS Project during his term; Dir. Radian who is our
Director responsible for coordinating with WCS and uploading the project information;
and PP Bojie who coordinated with the Tanong High School officials.
