A total of 17 Rotarians and Spouses from the Rotary Club of Taipei-Tienmou (RCTT) led by Pres. Cory Chen arrived on November 13 and 15, (Saturday & Monday) to visit their sister-club, the Rotary Club of Marikina West.
The first batch of delegates arrived last Saturday morning from Taipei and was welcomed at the Manila International Airport by RCMW Past Presidents Rollie Fantone and Tuking Ponce de Leon. Another group of Golden Westerners at the EDSA Shangrila Hotel was at hand to greet the delegates. This group was led by RCMW Centennial President Boyet Sacro together with Sec. Radian Fantone, PP Papong Ramos, PP Pol Viola, PP Abe Aboga and Treas. Dino Nolasco.
Spouse Jane Chen and Rtn. Leon arrived earlier today and were welcomed at the airport by RCMW Spouses Liza Sacro, Marly Ponce de Leon and Erly Depano.
The other delegates from RC Taipei-Tienmou include CP Winston, PP James, PP C.I., Sec. C.S., Rotarians Formosa, Bolt, Audio, Taro, Paul, Robert, Mason, PE, Sps. Blue and RCTT staff Catty.
The visit formally started last Saturday evening with a seafood dinner hosted by RC Taipei-Tienmou Pres. Cory Chen at the Seafood Market in Manila.
The following day, Sunday, saw a very hectic schedule for the two Rotary Clubs. The day started early in the morning with a fellowship golf game between the Rotarians from both clubs at the Valley Golf and Country Club in Antipolo City. Another group, the non-golfers from RCTT, were given a tour of the famous spots in Marikina City after a nice eat-all you can lunch at Saisaki Restaurant.
Later that Sunday night, a sumptuous fellowship dinner (complete with videoke) was hosted by PP Pope Solis and Sps. Vicky at their very cozy home in Cottonwoods, Antipolo City. It was a night of bonding and laughter as everyone reminisced the days when the sister-club relationship was starting 12 years ago.
On November 15, the visitors had a city tour and shopped for souvenirs at the Balikbayan store in Makati City. The visit will be capped with a formal joint meeting in the evening at the Gabaldon Room of the Club Filipino.
