  R.I. District 3800 Governor's Visit

The RI District 3800’s Centennial District Governor Fabio “Fabie” Enriquez made his official Governor’s Visit to the Rotary Club of Marikina West last Monday, September 20, 2004. The visit and business meeting were both held at the Centennial Café of the Club Filipino. DG Fabie was accompanied by Deputy District Governor Dan Santos (Pasig Sunrise), District Secretary Mac Hermoso (San Juan North), Deputy DS Robert Lopez (Mandaluyong), Deputy DS Joven Padilla (Navotas), and the ever-reliable Assistant Governor Jun Abellar (Marikina East).

The Golden West was ably represented by its young leaders led by Centennial Pres. Boyet Sacro, PE/VP Rodelle Bolante and Club Secretary Radian Fantone.

The Governor’s Visit started with the more serious “one-on-one” meeting between the District Governor & his party and the leaders of the Golden West, which started at 4:15 in the afternoon. The business meeting started with DG Fabie emphasizing the RI and D3800’s Centennial Goals and Thrusts. In his opening statement, Pres. Boyet stated the Golden West has aligned its plans and programs in support of the District’s objectives and thrusts for the Centennial Year.

DG Fabie expressed his satisfaction on the club’s well-prepared and concise plans & programs. He also noted that most of the Club’s projects have already been successfully implemented. There were very few comments and almost no corrections made on the club’s plans & programs by the District Governor and his party.

The few clarifications raised were answered confidently by the leaders of the club, which made DG Fabie comment, “Bakit cool na cool kayo?”

According to AG Jun, it was the shortest business meeting that he has attended in the District not to mention the lightest and most relaxed exchange of views that he has heard so far.

In his address to the Golden Westerners later that night, DG Fabie expressed his gratitude to the Rotary Club of Marikina West for it continuous support of his leadership and congratulated the Club’s leaders for their commitment to make his tenure a most successful one.
