Donation/Installation of a purified water drinking fountain to Leodegario Victorino Elementary School

Around 1,745 students and 43 teaches of the Leodegario Victorino Elementary School in Marikina City benefited from the water project of Rotary Club of Marikina West. In a simple ceremony held on 20 February 2006 at the school premises attended by teachers, parents and students, the Club formally turned-over a drinking foundatin with built-in purifier.

Graced by Marikina City Vice-Mayor Marion S. Andres who commended the project as being in line with the city's "In the Pink of Health" program, the donation was accepted by School Principal Lourdes Larios. In her welcome speech and acceptance, Mrs. Larios expressed her gratitude to Marikina West for its worthwhile endeavor of providing clean and safe drinking water to the public school students in the area.

The Golden West started this project two years ago with the installation of a water purifier at the Tanong High School in Marikina, which has benefited more than 2,000 students. This continuing project will be completed next year with the installation of a similar drinking fountain in Barangka Public School. This has been approved for listing in the RI World Community Service with project number WO5041.
